NFL Player of the Day 7/25- Tom Brady

The first ever NFL Player of the Day goes to the one and only Tom Brady. From humble beginnings as a sixth round draft choice, Brady might one day go down as the greatest to ever play the quarterback position.

Tom Brady's 20 Greatest Games

20
2009 Week 1 v.s. Buffalo Bills  W 25-24
39-53, 378 Yards, 2 TD, 1 INT, 97.8 Rating
Brady's week one return got off to a slow start, but then Brady knew exactly when he needed to turn it on, firing two touchdowns in the last five minutes to overcome a 24-13 deficit to shock the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football.

19
2011 Week 10 at New York Jets  W 37-16
26-39, 329 Yards, 3 TD, 0 INT, 118.4 Rating
After coming off two consecutive losses, the Patriots needed to put an end to the losing if they wanted to win the AFC East. And boy did the Tom Brady put an end to that, throwing for 3 TD's to demolish the Jets on Sunday Night Football.

18
2009 Week 6 v.s. Tennessee Titans  W 59-0
29-34, 380 Yards, 6 TD, 0 INT, 152.8 Rating
Some may call it running up the score, but nonetheless, Brady was firing on all cylinders despite snowy conditions at Gillette Stadium on an unusual October afternoon.

17
2002 Week 3 v.s. Kansas City Chiefs  W 41-38 OT
39-54, 410 Yards, 4 TD, 1 INT, 110.9 Rating
Tom Brady - Kansas City Chiefs v New England Patriots
This game was one of Brady's first signs of showing that he would become one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in NFL history as he bested the Chiefs with four touchdowns to prevail in overtime.

16
2009 Week 16 v.s. Jacksonville Jaguars  W 35-7
23-26, 267 Yards, 4 TD, 0 INT, 149.0 Rating
You don't see quarterbacks as efficient as Brady was on this afternoon. You also probably won't see another duo like Brady and Randy Moss any time soon.

15
2010 Week 12 at Detroit Lions  W 45-24
21-27, 341 Yards, 4 TD, 0 INT, 158.3 Rating
Tom Brady Tom Brady #12 of the New England Patriots drops back to pass during the game against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field on November 25, 2010 in Detroit, Michigan. New England defeated Detroit 45-24.
Brady stole the show on Thanksgiving, throwing four touchdowns and displaying a perfect passer rating on the day.

14
2003 Week 9 at Denver Broncos  W 30-26
20-35, 350 Yards, 3 TD, 1 INT, 108.0 Rating
In a thrilling Monday Night game, Brady once again put the Patriots on his back, taking the ball with 2:15 to play and throwing a game winning touchdown to David Givens. This win was a part of the 15 game win streak the Patriots would go on to conclude the 2003 season.

13
2010 Week 13 v.s. New York Jets  W 45-3
21-29, 326 Yards, 4 TD, 0 INT, 148.8 Rating
Hyped as one of the bigger regular season games in the last decade, the Patriots thoroughly destroyed the Jets and Brady provided the offensive fireworks with a usual four touchdown performance.

12
2007 Week 7 at Miami Dolphins  W 49-28
21-25, 354 Yards, 6 TD, 0 INT, 158.3 Rating
Brady was so good during this season, he made it look easy, like against one of his greatest foes, the Dolphins.

11
2007 Week 6 at Dallas Cowboys  W 48-27
31-46, 388 Yards, 5 TD, O INT, 129.6 Rating
Tom Brady - New England Patriots v Dallas Cowboys
At the time, this was a huge early season game for both sides. But the Patriots prevailed thanks in large part to Brady, who was stellar once again.

10
Super Bowl XXXIX v.s. Philadelphia Eagles  W 24-21
23-33, 236 Yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, 110.2 Rating
The biggest game of them all against an elite Eagles team and Brady is as smooth and composed as ever, swiftly guiding the Patriots to three touchdown drives en route to his and the Patriots third Super Bowl title.

2004 Week 1 v.s. Indianapolis Colts  W 27-24
26-38, 335 Yards, 3 TD, 1 INT, 111.2 Rating
One of the better Brady/Peyton Manning duels we've seen, Brady and the Patriots survived a Mike Vanderjat missed field goal to get off to a 1-0 start to the season.

2011 Week 1 at Miami Dolphins  W 38-24
32-48, 517 Yards, 4 TD, 1 INT, 121.6 Rating
517 yards is one thing. But the tempo that Brady kept throughout the entire game absolutely wore down the Dolphins and made them look quite pathetic for an NFL defense. It was an absolute tribute to Brady and his management of the offense.

2010 Week 10 at Pittsburgh Steelers  W 39-26
30-43, 350 Yards, 3 TD, 0 INT, 117.4 Rating
After a shocking loss at Cleveland the week prior, everyone was jumping off the Patriots bandwagon assuming they would get killed by the Steelers on Sunday Night Football. Brady retaliated with a sensational performance from beginning to end, lighting up one of the league's best defenses on primetime.

2007 AFC Divisional Round v.s. Jacksonville Jaguars  W 31-21
26-28, 262 Yards, 3 TD, 0 INT, 141.4 Rating
Tom Brady - Jacksonville Jaguars v New England Patriots
26-28, are you kidding me? The Jaguars were no slouch either, they kept it close early. But once again, Brady came up huge when the Patriots needed him to be at his absolute best.

Super Bowl XXXVI v.s. St. Louis Rams  W 20-17
16-27, 145 Yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 86.2 Rating
Brady did just enough to give the Patriots a 17-3 lead for most of the game, but given the Rams prolific nature, they quickly tied the game, putting the pressure back on the Patriots with just over a minute to play. With those like John Madden saying the Patriots should kneel down for overtime, Brady and the Patriots marched down the field to set up Adam Vinatieri's game winner to give the Patriots their first Super Bowl title.

2011 AFC Divisional Round v.s. Denver Broncos  W 45-10
26-34, 363 Yards, 6 TD, 1 INT, 137.6 Rating
Tom Brady - Divisional Playoffs - Denver Broncos v New England Patriots
I don't think we've ever seen Brady shut up the critics as much as he did on this night, silencing the skeptics who said Brady wasn't the same quarterback in the playoffs.

2004 AFC Championship at Pittsburgh Steelers  W 41-27
14-21, 207 Yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, 130.5 Rating
People seem to forget, but Brady played this game with an over 100 degree fever. They talk about Michael Jordan's flu game, when Brady was nearly as good in this AFC Championship against the vaunted Steelers defense that Brady thrashed to head to his third Super Bowl.

2001 AFC Divisional Round v.s. Oakland Raiders  W 16-13 OT
32-52, 312 Yards, 0 TD, 1 INT, 70.4 Rating
Yeah, yeah, the tuck game. But give Brady credit, he drove the Patriots down the field through the snow to come back from a two score game. Not bad for his first career playoff start.

Super Bowl Bowl XXXVIII v.s. Carolina Panthers  W 32-29
32-48, 354 Yards, 3 TD, 1 INT, 100.5 Rating
Brady was magical, orchestrating his second career game winning Super Bowl drive that culminated in another Adam Vinatieri game winner. Brady's heroics and production against a very good Carolina defense in the biggest game of them all is why Super Bowl XXXVIII ranks as Brady's greatest game.
