 12-4- Houston rebounds after a disappointing end to last season behind the return of Brian Cushing and the addition of Ed Reed to claim the 1 seed in the AFC

 11-5- After missing the playoffs in 2012, Ben Roethlisberger and Troy Polamalu stay healthy, allowing the Steelers to surprise a couple people and win the AFC North
 10-6- Peyton Manning doesn't make it through the whole season healthy, but the Broncos manage to hang on to win the AFC West behind Von Miller and the defense
 10-6- Indianapolis, despite a tougher schedule, prove they were not a fluke last year by making the playoffs as a wild card once again
 9-7- The Chargers, led by first year coach Mike McCoy and a resurgent season from Phillip Rivers, make the playoffs for the first time in four years 

Surprise Teams: San Diego Chargers 9-7: The Chargers, led by first year coach Mike McCoy and a resurgent season from Phillip Rivers, make the playoffs for the first time in four years 

Miami Dolphins 9-7: Ryan Tannehill has a very productive season with new free agent receiver Mike Wallace, and it nearly leads Miami to the playoffs

Kansas City Chiefs 8-8: After finishing a league worst 2-14 a year ago, new quarterback Alex Smith and running back Jamaal Charles keep the Chiefs in the playoff hunt until the final weekend 

Disappointing Teams: Baltimore Ravens 8-8: The defending Super Bowl champions will miss out on the playoffs because their defense will not be worthy enough to make the playoffs

Cincinnati Bengals 7-9: A couple of injuries and a couple of narrow losses add up to a disappointing season for A.J. Green and the Bengals 

NFC 
 13-3- The Seahawks are unbeatable at home once again and they win just enough games on the road thanks to another good season by Russell Wilson and an outstanding year by Earl Thomas
 12-4- The Packers shake off some of the disastrous moments of 2012 to claim the first round bye they should've received last year
 11-5- The Giants return to the playoffs behind a new look defense and a pro-bowl season by Eli Manning
 10-6- The Bucs go from worst to first in the NFC South thanks to a top three defense led by second year linebacker Lavonte David
 11-5- The 49ers don't win the NFC West for the third straight season, but they manage to have another solid season and make the playoffs
 10-6- Atlanta slips a little bit in large part due to a couple injuries, but Matt Ryan turns it on late in the year to lead Atlanta back to the playoffs 

Surprise Teams: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10-6: The Bucs go from worst to first in the NFC South thanks to a top three defense led by second year linebacker Lavonte David

Disappointing Teams: Washington Redskins 7-9: The 'Skins can't rekindle the same magic that lead them to the NFC East title a year ago as they fall short of the playoffs

New Orleans Saints 8-8: Even with the return of head coach Sean Payton, the Saints still lack the defense to make the playoffs

New England- Drafted in the late second round, Woods is prolific, albeit amongst a weak rookie class, for the Patriots

Defensive Rookie of Year: Alec Ogletree, LB 
New York- The linebacker out of Georgia will be a breath of fresh air for the Giants as he begins the rebuilding process of the New York defense

3:00 CBS 2)  over 4)  30-24 OT- In another epic duel between Brady and Manning, the Patriots receive the kickoff to begin overtime and march straight down the field, capped off by a Steven Ridley seven yard touchdown run to send the Patriots to the Super Bowl
6:30 FOX 2)  over 1)  30-21- As the favorites, the Seahawks waste their home field advantage by allowing Aaron Rodgers and the Packers to control from start to finish

 14-2- Andrew Luck and a league best offense grab the top seed in the AFC
 12-4- After missing the playoffs in 2013, the Bengals win the AFC North behind both a solid offense and defense

 10-6- Peyton Manning engineers a late season Broncos rally to snatch the AFC West away from the Chiefs
 10-6- Third year quarterback Ryan Tannehill and one of the league's best defenses led by Cameron Wake allow Miami to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2008
 10-6- In only Andy Reid's second season, he takes the Chiefs to the playoffs behind the star tandem of Tamba Hali and Justin Huston

Jacksonville Jaguars 8-8- In Matt Barkley's first full season as a starter, he leads the Jaguars to a four game win increase

Disappointing Teams: Pittsburgh Steelers 5-11- After making some noise in last year's playoffs, injuries to key players like Troy Polamalu derail Pittsburgh's season

Houston Texans 6-10- After being bounced in the divisional round for the third straight season, the Texans offense crumbles as they fall very short of the playoffs

NFC
 13-3- With Robert Griffin III healthy for the entire season, the Redskin's cruise to the NFC East title
 13-3- Behind a balanced offensive attack and an elite defense, the Seahawks reign supreme in the NFC West once again
 12-4- Another stellar defensive performance led by third year players Lavonte David and Mark Barron lead the Buccaneers to a second consecutive NFC South title
 9-7- Matthew Stafford cuts down on his interceptions, allowing Detroit to barely beat out Green Bay to make the playoffs
 10-6- Another stellar season from Victor Cruz proves to be enough for the Giants to make the playoffs for the second consecutive season
 9-7- In a little bit of an underachieving season, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers do just enough to make the playoffs

Surprise Teams: St. Louis Rams 9-7- The Rams, led by a career year from quarterback Sam Bradford, come oh so close to making the playoffs

Detroit Lions 9-7- Matthew Stafford cuts down on his interceptions, allowing Detroit to barely beat out Green Bay to make the playoffs

Disappointing Teams: San Francisco 49ers 7-9- An injury midseason to quarterback Colin Kaepernick ruins the 49ers aspirations of a Super Bowl title

Atlanta Falcons 7-9- An off season by quarterback Matt Ryan coupled with a few close losses add up to a disappointing season from the Falcons

Awards
MVP: Robert Griffin III, QB Washington- In one of the tightest MVP races in recent memory, RG3 scrapes by Andrew Luck behind a statistically brilliant season to win the MVP award

1:00 CBS 5) over 1)  21-16- Favored by 12.5 points, the Redskins offense is confounded by the Giants defense, setting up an Eli Manning touchdown run from nine yards out to give the Giants the win late in the fourth quarter
4:25 CBS 1)  over 6)  27-17- Despite over 150 rushing yards by Jamaal Charles, Andrew Luck and the Colts hang on to move on to the AFC Championship

Conference Championships

 11-5- Once again, the New England Patriots win the AFC East for the thirteenth time in fifteen seasons
 10-6- Kansas City, behind the league's best defense, win the AFC West
 9-7- Matt Barkley and the underrated Jaguars go 6-2 in their last 8 games to secure the 5 seed
 9-7- Geno Smith and the Buffalo Bills make the playoffs for the first time in the 2000's

Surprising Teams: Buffalo Bills 9-7- Geno Smith and the Buffalo Bills make the playoffs for the first time in the 2000's

Disappointing Teams: Miami Dolphins 3-13- The Dolphins decline severely after losses to their receiving core and secondary during free agency
