SRT 2012 Recap: San Francisco 38, New England 31

49ers Hold On to Win One in Foxboro

It was wet and rainy for most of the night in Foxboro while emotions ran high at the start of the game for remembrance of the victims of the Sandy Hook shooting.
San Francisco got on the board early with a Colin Kaepernick touchdown pass to former Patriot Randy Moss in the first quarter.
New England miscues including a second quarter fumble by Stevan Ridley allowed San Francisco to jump out to at 17-3 halftime lead.
The 49ers claimed a 31-3 lead midway through the third quarter after a Michael Crabtree touchdown reception on a seam pattern from Kaepernick.
In a sudden turn of events, New England quickly turned 28 point deficit into a 31-31 shootout by taking care of business on defense and offense.
Yet just when New England had all the momentum, the 49ers struck like lightning with a kick return by LaMichael James to set up Colin Kaepernick's 4th touchdown pass to Michael Crabtree to give San Francisco a 38-31 lead.
Tom Brady and the Patriots could not engineer another comeback. The 49ers handed New England their first home loss in December since 2002.
