The Titans are a mercurial team from week to week. I have faith that Matt Hasselbeck will play conservative football to keep the Titans in the game, but I like Pittsburgh to win in a one possession game.
Pittsburgh 23-17
Spread: Pittsburgh (400)
O/U: Under (200)
Oakland at Atlanta (-8.5, 48.5)
I simply don't see any miracles happening in the Georgia Dome today, Atlanta moves to 6-0 over Oakland.
Atlanta 28-17
Spread: Atlanta (700)
O/U: Under (200)
Cincinnati at Cleveland (+2.5, 42.5)
The Bengals defeated the Browns earlier this season, but like a few of the Browns games this year, the Browns are not that far away from being, say, 2-3. In a sloppy game in Cleveland, I'll take the Browns to pull out their first victory of the season over Cincinnati.
Cleveland 20-17 OT
Spread: Cleveland (100)
O/U: Under (500)
St. Louis at Miami (-3.5, 38)
We have a matchup between two of the NFL's sneaky good teams. The Dolphins are 2-3 with two of their losses coming in overtime in games they arguably deserved to win. The Rams are 3-2 coming off of back to back victories over division opponents. In a tough game to call, I'll take the Dolphins coming out on top because of their defense doing just enough to contain a sometimes anemic Sam Bradford-led Rams offense.
Miami 13-10
Spread: St. Louis (200)
O/U: Under (400)
Indianapolis at New York (-3.5, 44)
The Colts were Chuckstrong last week and I believe they will carry that momentum into the Meadowlands. This game will be up to the Colts defense to be a little bit better than they have been this year and since I believe the Colts defense will have a good performance today, giving the Colts the win.
Indianapolis 27-21
Spread: Indianapolis (500)
O/U: Over (200)
Detroit at Philadelphia (-5.5, 47.5)
Very difficult game to call in Philadelphia today. The Lions have lost three in a row and are hungry to win after their bye week while the Eagles finally face a below average defense. I'll take the Eagles at home behind a no turnover performance from Michael Vick (talk about bold).
Philadelphia 31-21
Spread: Philadelphia (400)
O/U: Over (400)
Kansas City at Tampa Bay (-3.5, 40)
Is Brady Quinn the answer to Kansas City's problems? I think he might be, but the Chiefs will need another outstanding performance from their defense in order to beat Tampa Bay. We have seen Josh Freeman struggle against quality defenses the last two seasons and I think he will struggle once again today and Brady Quinn comes through for the Chiefs.
Kansas City 23-19
Spread: Kansas City (300)
O/U: Over (100)
Dallas at Baltimore (-3.5, 44)
No body who follows football knows what the Dallas Cowboys will do on any given sunday. To a lesser extent, who knows which Joe Flacco will show up for the Ravens. Will it be the Flacco that led a game winning drive to beat New England or the Flacco that engineered a 9 point performance in Kansas City last week? As long as Tony Romo does not turn the ball over excessively, the Cowboys can win this game. I predict another turn in the Cowboys season as they shock the Ravens with a game winning drive led by Tony Romo.
Dallas 28-24
Spread: Dallas (300)
O/U: Over (200)
Buffalo at Arizona (-4.5, 44)
The Buffalo Bills have been the most pathetic team in football over their past six quarters. Maybe this is a day to start Kevin Kolb on your fantasy team. The Cardinals put together a complete performance in all aspects of the game to beat the Bills by two scores.
Arizona 27-13
Spread: Arizona (900)
O/U: Under (200)
New England at Seattle (+3.5, O/U 44)
This is a great matchup between arguably the league's most explosive offense in New England against an emerging defense in Seattle on the cusp of being elite. However, the x-factor today is whether Seattle can put up enough points, assuming the Seattle defense can maybe hold New England to say 21 points. I don't see Marshawn Lynch having a ton of success against a stout Patriots run defense, so this game is in Russell Wilson's hands. Since that is most likely the case, I'll take the Patriots to come out on top.
New England 24-17
Spread: New England (500)
O/U: Under (300)
New York at San Francisco (-5.5, 46)
One of the league's most anticipated match ups of the season takes place in the Bay area today. You never know how the Giants will perform, so I'm looking at what I can expect San Francisco to do today. I can expect them to harass Eli Manning just like they did last season and I can expect a balanced attack from the 49ers offense. The 49ers will overcome the special teams miscues that cost them an NFC Championship last season to extract revenge on the Giants today at Candlestick.
San Francisco 30-24
Spread: San Francisco (400)
O/U: Over (200)
Minnesota at Washington (-2.5, O/U 44.5)
Can you say 5-1? That is what the Vikings are looking to do today in Washington and I believe they will achieve that goal because the Vikings defense has been very good thus far in 2012 and that should cause problems for a Redskins offense that has been sputtering of late. Keep in mind that the 'Skins have many problems defensively that Christian Ponder, Adrian Peterson and Percy Harvin should take advantage of.
Minnesota 27-18
Spread: Minnesota (600)
O/U: Over (400)
Green Bay at Houston (-3.5, 47.5)
The Packers are far different from the team they were last season. They have problems on both interior lines and it is affecting their performance on both offense and defense. Now they face the Houston Texans, the team with maybe the best interior lines in football. I see problems up front for Green Bay and though Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense put together a valiant effort, they come up short in Houston on Sunday Night.
Houston 29-27
Spread: Green Bay (400)
O/U: Over (300)
Denver at San Diego (-2.5, 48.5)
Pick 'em. This game could go either way and since neither team has proven to be consistent this season, it makes it extremely difficult to predict. I'll take San Diego simply because they are at home.
San Diego 30-28
Spread: Denver (100)
O/U: Over (500)
