The Redskins were looking to win their first NFC East title since 1999 and host their first home playoff game of the 2000's.
Although Tony Romo and the Cowboys had two first quarter turnovers, they scored first on a Romo to Jason Witten touchdown pass.
But the Cowboys lead would not stay for long as the read option frustrated DeMarcus Ware and the Cowboys defense as Robert Griffin III takes off on a score to give the 'Skins a 14-7 lead.
An Alfred Morris touchdown run gave the Redskins a 21-10 lead as they inched closer to the victory.
Just when it seemed like the Cowboys were going to come back and steal the NFC East, Tony Romo lofted a swing pass to DeMarco Murray that was intercepted by Redskins linebacker Rob Jackson.
Alfred Morris put a fitting end to the game by rushing for his 200th yard and third touchdown of the game to seal the NFC East for the remarkable Redskins.
